Coloratura soprano Martina Sehylová joined during her childhood the children’s singing choir Bambini di Praga. She studied under Jarmila Krásová at the Prague Conservatory, from which she graduated in 2009. In the same year, she began her university studies at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica „G. Rossini“ in Pesaro, Italy first under the guidance of professor Daniela Broganelli and then professor Lucia Fiori. She completed her Master’s Degree in operatic singing in 2015 with highest honours. While in Pesaro, Sehylová furthered her musical studies with distinguished professors, such as Bojidar Nikolov, Antonio Carangelo in Vienna, Roman Janál, So Hyun Lee, and Evghenia Dundekova, and worked closely with professors Mario Melani at the Accademia Internazionale di canto. She has actively participated in masterclasses under the leadership of Christopher Underwood and Ewa Izykowska in Italy. In July 2011, she won the duet singing competition „Festival sotto le stelle“ at San Giovanni in Marignano and later performed the duet at Lago di Garda. In 2012, she performed at the world premiere of Jarmila Novotná‘s festival in Liteň, and was accompanied by the music ensemble Musica Florea.
Sehylová is invited to perform various concerts and performances in San Giovanni in Marignano. She has performed the role of Cleopatra in the serenade Marc’Antonio e Cleopatra by Johann Adolph Hasse and the main role of Euridice from the opera „Orfeo ed Euridice“ by Christoph Willibald Gluck. Additionally, she was the soprano soloist in the Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as in Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Te Deum.
Sehylová’s past collaborations include the Philharmonic Choir „Coro Filarmonico di Pesaro“ and the Cathedral Choir „San Terenzio.“ She was a soloist of the Chamber Choir of the Conservatorio in Pesaro, with which she sang in multiple concerts in Italian cities.
She has collaborated with orchestras Praga Camerata and North Bohemian Philharmonic Teplice. She currently collaborates with renowned pianist Norbert Heller, with whom she recorded and released a CD with songs of classicism from W.A.Mozart, F.X.Mozart and L. van Beethoven, and also with organists Jaroslav Tůma, Pavel Kohout, Josef Kšica and Jiřina Dvořáková-Marešová. Sehylová’s core repertoire includes operatic arias and songs by W. A. Mozart and vocal works by composers of the Baroque and Romantic eras.
Since 2018 she has been living in Vienna perfecting her singing technique with Prof. Bojidar Nikolov. She appears regularly in concerts in the Czech Republic, Italy and Austria.
